Production Package
The following is an outline of the Standard Documentary Producers Production Insurance Program. It is a general reference to the coverages the insurance policies would provide. It is not intended to describe all of the various details pertaining to the insurance. Actual coverages are detailed only in the policy of insurance and are subject to all terms, provisions, conditions and exclusions as contained therein. Please consult the specimen policy forms that are available upon request for a complete description.

| Cast Insurance |
Reimburses the Production Company for extra
expense & delays due to the death, illness or injury of
scheduled Cast members. Physical examinations are required prior
to effective date.

Negative Film/Videotape

Covers against Special Risks of physical (external) loss such
as theft, damage or destruction of negative/video materials
such as exposed film, recorded videotape, raw stock, work prints,
sound tracks & tapes, print material, data and software used
to generate computer images.
Most policies contain an "Unprocessed Film Warranty"
which limits coverage to 3 shoot days or 5 consecutive days
accumulated unprocessed film. This can be extended,
for an additional premium charge, when required such as shoots
at remote locations where it is not possible to ship out the
negative every 3 shoot days. |
| Faulty Stock, Camera & Processing |
Covers loss to negative/videotapes resulting
from faulty stock, faulty processing, (developing or other laboratory
work, editing, processing), faulty cameras & recording equipment,
accidental exposure to light, accidental erasure of videotapes
& sound tracks for the cost to re-shoot, restore or repair the
damage.

| Props, Sets & Wardrobe |
| Covers props, sets, scenery, costumes and
wardrobe and some exterior back drop property, against Special
Risks of physical loss as a result of theft, damage or destruction.
Sub-limits apply for certain types of property, such as antiques,
fine arts, furs and jewelry. |
Rented Camera &
Misc. Equipment |
| (Worldwide & Replacement Cost)
Covers rented cameras, sound, lighting, generators, grip equipment,
mechanical effects equipment, and editing equipment against
Special Risks of physical loss as a result of theft, damage
or destruction. Coverage is provided on a Replacement Cost basis
where required by the rental contract. |
| Third Party Property Damage |
| This is a Third Party Liability coverage that
is excluded from all Commercial General Liability policies, and
provides coverage for loss or destruction to property of others
while in the care, custody or control of the production company,
including physical premises over which the production company
is exercising physical control. |
Extra Expense
(including mechanical breakdown) |
Covers extra expenses incurred due to interruption,
postponement or cancellation of the production due to damage
and/or destruction of property, equipment or facilities, including
mechanical breakdown of equipment
The policy will not provide coverage for additional expenses
incurred in order to make an air date or other delivery commitment.

Office Contents
(temporary & fixed locations) |
Covers damage and theft of office equipment,
furniture and fixtures other than production property &
equipment.
|
| Money & Securities |
| Covers cash and securities which belong
to the production company if they are stolen or destroyed. |
The premium is calculated using the budget.
Rates for filming operations involving hazardous exposures and locations
are subject to surcharges.
